Durability and ease of maintenance
Rudiments Basalt is a high-performance carpet tile that’s ideal for education projects. Using a solution-dyed nylon that gives stain-resistance and excellent appearance retention, it’s a durable and long-lasting solution; something that was important to designer Victoria Sayer, Cobus Space.
“The dormitories become a home from home for the girls while they are at school, so I wanted to create a neutral environment while also making sure that the design and colour of the carpet will sustain heavy use and dirt but still look 'new' over time.”
Victoria chose Rudiments Basalt in 911 and 959 for a combination of dark and light grey tones. Basalt’s bold random-lay texture is rooted in stone blocks, giving the carpet tile an organic, structured quality. The carpet tile is available in 18 colours that can mix and match with any other Rudiments design.
In greys to complement the proposed design scheme, Basalt provides a neutral backdrop that lets boarding pupils at Cheltenham Ladies’ College personalise their space. A total of 570 m² of Rudiments Basalt carpet tiles were installed over two phases.
