Aarova is using the former Syntra campus in Oudenaarde as a hip meeting space for corporate events and celebrations

Aarova is a sheltered workplace that offers opportunities to almost 400 employees who are at a distance from the regular labour market. Some have a physical disability, while others have mental health illnesses.

"We are working very hard to make everyone here feel that they are doing something useful and never miss an opportunity to put that in the spotlight," says director Thierry Snauwaert. "That's why we’ve hung our DNA on the wall in every room."

Space to expand

Since its foundation end of 1993, Aarova has grown eight-fold. Today it is one of the largest employers in Oudenaarde and the surrounding area. Active in various sectors, the company has its own workshops and works on location with other companies. As part of a new extension, Aarova bought the former Syntra site in Oudenaarde to set it up as a meeting space.

Thorough renovation

With this new meeting space, Aarova is targeting companies that want to organise seminars, product presentations or events. The location has an auditorium with capacity for 120 people, a banquet hall, bar, restaurant and five meeting rooms.

“We are very proud of the fact that we have carried out most of the renovation, painting and furnishing work with the help of our own employees.”

Thierry Snauwaert, director of Aarova
